The School / Company Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing services to promote and protect the health, safety, and well-being of students, faculty, and staff. The role includes delivering first aid and emergency care, maintaining health records, ensuring compliance with health regulations, and promoting preventive health programs within the school and workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical and Emergency Care
- Provide immediate medical assistance and first aid to students and employees during emergencies or illness.
- Assess patients' conditions, administer prescribed medications, and make necessary referrals for further medical care.
- Maintain and monitor an adequate supply of medicines, first aid kits, and medical equipment.
- Coordinate with partner hospitals or clinics for emergency transfers or health-related concerns.
2. Health Monitoring and Record Management
- Maintain updated health and medical records of students and employees.
- Prepare periodic health, sickness, and accident reports for submission to HR and management.
- Ensure data privacy and confidentiality in handling medical information.
- Monitor employee health concerns, absences due to sickness, and return-to-work clearances.
3. Preventive Health Programs and Education
- Develop and implement health education and wellness programs (nutrition, mental health, disease prevention, etc.).
- Conduct health orientations, seminars, and campaigns to promote workplace and school well-being.
- Implement immunization drives and coordinate with the Department of Health (DOH) and local health offices.
4. Compliance and Occupational Health
- Ensure compliance with DOLE, DOH, and DepEd/CHED regulations on occupational and school health.
- Conduct regular workplace and school area inspections for sanitation, safety, and hygiene.
- Assist in occupational safety and health (OSH) programs and emergency drills (fire, earthquake, etc.).
- Participate in the implementation of the company's Employee Assistance and Wellness Program.
5. Coordination and Communication
- Coordinate with HR on employee health benefits, insurance, and medical assistance.
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding students' health conditions when necessary.
- Work collaboratively with guidance counselors, safety officers, and management to support a healthy environment.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- License: Registered Nurse (with valid PRC license)
- Experience: At least 1–2 years in occupational or school health nursing (preferred)
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid Certification
- Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Training (preferred but not required)
