The Role

As a data engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and deploying scalable data systems and products. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that drive business value. This is a unique opportunity to work on next-generation data products, including GenAI-driven solutions, and to help shape the evolution of our data platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance batch and streaming data pipelines.
  • Build and optimise GenAI-driven data products and solutions.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of data warehouses.
  • Drive cloud-based development initiatives, primarily on AWS.
  • Enhance and maintain CI/CD processes for data applications.
  • Support and maintain data applications, pipelines, and databases.
  • Participate actively in daily stand-ups and agile development teams.
  • Write unit, integration, and data quality tests to ensure robust, reliable solutions.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and promote best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

About You

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Python and SQL.
  • Experience with additional languages (Java, C#, or C++) is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in Linux environments and with command line tools.
  • Solid understanding of ETL processes and event streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka).
  • Experience with Snowflake, Kubernetes, and Airflow is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to time-series market data is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of data science concepts (machine learning, data mining, statistics, visualisation).

Professional Skills:

  • Ability to write clean, scalable, and performant code.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working in agile development teams.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field.
