Lead Software Engineer – Davao

JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you an experienced developer ready to take on a leadership role without leaving the code behind? We're looking for a Lead Software Engineer to guide our development team, drive technical excellence, and maintain a high standard of quality on all our projects.

This is a unique opportunity to shape our team's direction, provide expert advice, and still have a direct impact on the codebase.

Work Setup: Hybrid – 3x/week

Work Location: Davao City

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As our Lead Software Engineer, you will have a crucial dual role:

Hands-on Coding and Development: You will still be actively involved in writing and implementing software features, ensuring our code meets high standards and follows best practices.

Team Leadership: You'll be the go-to person for our entire dev team, from juniors to seniors. This includes mentoring, providing technical guidance, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Agile Project Management: You will be responsible for ticket management, ensuring the team addresses and resolves issues efficiently. A solid understanding of Agile methodologies is essential for this role, as you'll be key to maintaining our project workflows.

Client Collaboration: While a Project Manager will handle day-to-day project management, you will serve as the team's technical representative, communicating directly with clients to offer expert software development advice and align on technical strategies.

Knowledge Sharing: You will contribute to our collective growth by sharing your expertise, whether through internal talks, training materials, or team discussions.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

We want someone who is a skilled engineer and a natural leader. The ideal candidate has:

A strong background in software development with significant hands-on coding experience.

Proven expertise in Agile methodologies and experience with ticket management.

The ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of developers.

Excellent communication skills for both internal team discussions and external client interactions.

A passion for continuous learning and a desire to help others grow.

Experience in web development using Java/Spring, PostgreSQL, and ReactJS or similar languages.
