Job Summary
The Comptroller is responsible for overseeing the organization's financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/PFRS), and effective internal controls. This role provides strategic financial leadership, supervises accounting and finance teams, manages audits, and supports executive management in decision-making. The Comptroller also plays a critical role in budgeting, treasury management, and financial planning to ensure organizational sustainability and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations including AR/AP, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of stand-alone and consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS/PFRS.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Supervise internal controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance (BIR, SEC, and other government agencies).
- Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and financial resources effectively.
- Coordinate internal and external audits; ensure readiness for compliance reviews.
- Develop and implement financial policies, systems, and procedures.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making.
- Mentor and develop accounting and finance staff to strengthen departmental capacity.
Qualifications
Educational Background
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is an advantage.
- Professional certifications such as CMA, CFA, or CIA preferred.
Work Experience
- At least 8–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a senior finance or leadership role.
- Strong background in financial reporting, consolidation, budgeting, and compliance.
- Experience handling audits and regulatory requirements (BIR, SEC, IFRS, PFRS).
Technical Competencies
- Expertise in financial management, treasury, and cash flow forecasting.
- Proficient in ERP/accounting systems and advanced MS Excel.
- Strong knowledge in internal controls, risk management, and tax compliance.
- Skilled in financial analysis and strategic planning.
