Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Operations Officer with expertise in Philippine Direct Tax to manage and support tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities. The role involves ensuring full compliance with BIR regulations, managing income tax obligations, and supporting audits and internal controls related to corporate income tax, withholding tax, and other direct taxes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance and Reporting
  • Prepare and file accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax returns (ITR), including BIR Forms 1701, 1702, 1601-EQ, 1601-FQ, etc.
  • Review and reconcile tax accounts to ensure proper reporting of corporate income tax, withholding tax, fringe benefits tax, and minimum corporate income tax (MCIT).
  • Ensure timely remittance and payment of tax dues to the BIR.
  • Manage tax calendar and monitor deadlines to avoid penalties and surcharges.
  • Tax Operations Advisory
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Philippine Direct Tax laws, regulations, and BIR rulings.
  • Advise management on tax implications of business operations and transactions.
  • Ensure proper implementation of tax-saving strategies and tax incentives, if applicable (e.g., PEZA, BOI, TIEZA).
  • Tax Audit and Risk Management
  • Liaise with BIR and represent the company in tax audits, assessments, and investigations.
  • Prepare and organize documentation to support positions taken in tax returns.
  • Coordinate with internal, external auditors and legal consultants during audits and reviews.
  • Other Operational Requirements
  • And preparation of all other tasks or reports that are mandated by regulatory government agencies such as but not limited to Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and Securities, Exchange Commission (SEC) And Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA)

Job Qualifications:

  • A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in Philippine direct tax
  • Strong understanding of BIR rules, tax treaties, and tax reporting standards.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 360 Business Central, or other ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
