Job description

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented General Accounting Officer to oversee, manage, and improve our daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing internal control policies, procedures, and financial planning as needed. This role plays a key part in ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing and reporting.
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports, including budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
  • Assist with tax filings and compliance with government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Support budgeting and funding activities.
  • Manage and mentor junior accounting staff.
  • Ensure accuracy in all financial reporting and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA is highly preferred).
  • Minimum [5+] years of progressive accounting experience, with at least [2+] years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Preferably based near San Juan City or is willing to relocate.
