The Accounting Officer is responsible for managing the organization's financial records, tax compliance, and payroll processing. This role requires thorough knowledge of BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue) processes, government regulations, and internal accounting procedures to ensure timely and accurate reporting, tax filings, and salary disbursements.

Key Responsibilities:General Accounting:

  • Maintain and update daily sales reports and reconcile with POS records
  • Record expenses, vendor invoices, and petty cash disbursements
  • Monitor cost of goods sold (COGS), kitchen inventory, and spoilage tracking
  • Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and summaries for management
  • Monitor receivables from delivery platforms or catering accounts

Payroll and Government Remittances:

  • Process monthly payroll for restaurant staff including deductions and adjustments
  • Calculate night differentials, overtime, holiday pay, and other mandated pay components
  • Ensure timely filing and remittance of:
  • SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG
  • BIR Form 1601-C (Compensation Withholding Tax)
  • Generate payslips, payroll reports, and payroll-related certificates (e.g., 2316)
  • Coordinate with HR on employee movement, contract status, and final pay

BIR Compliance and Taxation:

  • Prepare and file all required BIR returns, including:
  • VAT (2550M / 2550Q)
  • Withholding Tax (0619-E, 1601-EQ)
  • Income Tax Returns (1702Q / 1702)
  • Alphalist and Annual Information Returns (1604E / 1604CF)
  • Handle BIR-related audits, registration updates, and assessments
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date BIR documentation and reports

Restaurant-Specific Duties:

  • Monitor food and beverage costs and identify variance trends
  • Work with purchasing and kitchen team to track supplier payments and inventory aging
  • Assist with budgeting for new branches or seasonal menu rollouts
  • Coordinate with operations to validate POS and cash reports per shift

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, or Finance
  • CPA is a plus but not required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in F&B or retail
  • Familiar with BIR processes, labor regulations, and payroll systems
  • Experience with POS-based reporting and inventory systems (e.g., Revel, Toast, or similar)
  • Proficient in accounting tools (QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Trustworthy, discreet, and able to handle confidential information
