The Role

We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented AI Operations Engineer/Admin to ensure our AI models, pipelines, and systems run reliably, efficiently, and securely — 24/7. This is a hands-on technical role focused on the infrastructure and operational side of applied AI.

As an AI Operations Engineer at Tolstoy, you'll be responsible for the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of our AI infrastructure. You'll support model lifecycle workflows, manage internal AI tools, maintain cloud infrastructure, and resolve issues as they arise.

You'll collaborate closely with AI engineers, product teams, and DevOps to ensure our systems remain scalable, performant, and deliver a seamless AI experience to millions of users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy, monitor, and maintain production AI/ML models and pipelines
  • Set up and manage scalable infrastructure on AWS/GCP
  • Implement model monitoring tools to track accuracy, latency, drift, and set up alerting systems
  • Automate workflows for training, deployment, and batch processing
  • Maintain and enhance internal tools and dashboards for AI teams
  • Support version control and CI/CD processes for AI model deployment
  • Ensure data security and operational compliance across all AI systems
  • Act as the primary contact for troubleshooting and triaging AI-related issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support smooth integration of AI features
  • Create and maintain up-to-date internal documentation and knowledge bases
  • Apply prompt engineering and LLM expertise to improve internal AI-driven workflows

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in MLOps, DevOps, or AI infrastructure roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and cost optimization
  • Proficiency in Python and scripting tools (Bash); JavaScript knowledge is a plus
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and ML lifecycle tools (MLflow, Airflow, etc.)
  • Understanding of model deployment, monitoring, and drift detection
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, agile environments
  • Strong communication and technical documentation skills

  • Git & CI/CD tools – For version control and continuous deployment
  • Linux CLI – For server administration and log management
