JOB SUMMARY:

The Accounting Assistant – General Ledger is responsible for performing daily accounting tasks related to the General Ledger maintenance, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliation of accounts. The role supports the month-end close process and contributes to the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports and statutory compliance. This position also handles intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper reconciliation of balances between related entities. This position is assigned to mid-shift schedule to provide overlap with US counterparts and ensure full coverage of the accounting system throughout the shift.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Prepare and post journal entries to record various financial transactions.


• Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.


• Handle intercompany transactions, including recording, monitoring, reconciliation of accounts, and coordinating with US counterparts to ensure accurate balances and timely settlement.


• Coordinate with other accounting functions to ensure correct and complete GL posting.


• Assist in month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities.


• Support in the preparation of financial statements and other month-end reports.


• Assist in tax and other statutory compliance.


• Assist with statutory audit and tax assessment by providing necessary documentation and supporting schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in General Ledger, preferably gained from local companies
  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy
  • Can work in a Mid-Shift Schedule in a Hybrid Environment
