Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reviewing governmental remittances for VAT and withholding taxes.
  • Reviewing general ledger (GL) accounts in the accounting system.
  • Preparation of bank reconciliations for all bank accounts.
  • Preparation of all account schedules to support the Trial Balance and Financial Statements to be prepared by the Accounting Manager.
  • Participation in the monthly inventory in HO and branches and preparation of reconciliation, as needed.
  • Participation in the hiring process of new and replacing accounting staff (rank and file).
  • Participation in queries and answering Internal Audit findings relative to Accounting issues or other departments' concerns.
  • Preparation of Accounting Policies, Guidelines and Procedures, as requested or deemed necessary.
  • Coordination of branch accounting concerns.
  • Preparation of bank presentation and mancom materials, if needed.
  • Other tasks that may be asked by immediate superior.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.

Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is an advantage but not required
  • Knowledgeable in computing Taxation (VAT Input and Output and Expanded Withholding Tax and Creditable Withholding Tax)
  • Expert level knowledge of Philippine tax compliance including VAT and withholding tax requirements.
  • Ability to explain and discuss financial data with team members
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Must be Computer literate (Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Advanced expertise in general ledger management and reconciliation required.
