About the Role

We are seeking a qualified accountant to join our team as a Finance & Accounting Assistant. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with accounting platforms and tools such as Xero, Lightyear, Weel, and be proficient in managing Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Payroll. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Email Management: Organize and respond to finance-related correspondence.
  • Payroll Processing: Ensure accurate and timely payroll for employees.
  • Bank Reconciliation & Management: Maintain accurate bank records and perform reconciliations.
  • Accounts Payable & Invoice Management: Process invoices, manage AP, and reconcile accounts.
  • Bookkeeping & Ad-hoc Tasks: Support day-to-day bookkeeping and assist with special projects.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reports in compliance with Australian standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Certified or qualified accountant (CPA/CA preferred).
  • Proficiency in Xero, Lightyear, Weel, and related accounting tools.
  • Strong knowledge of AP, AR, Payroll, and bank reconciliation processes.
  • Experience with Australian accounting standards and reporting requirements.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
