Job Description A Big Data Solution Architect Manager combines technical skills with leadership and project management skills. Leading a team, they oversee end-to-end project execution, ensuring timely and successful delivery. They excel at stakeholder engagement, aligning data solutions with business objectives, and strategic resource allocation. Their role encompasses efficient project management, fostering team productivity, and maintaining stakeholder satisfaction, ultimately contributing to the organization's data-driven success

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Big Data Solution Architect manages the overall development and implementation of plans for architecture components and services.

• Be a strong thought leader in big data engineering and big data architecture

• Develop a strategic vision and drive the evolution of Globe's big data platform and analytics capabilities. This will mean working with Spark, Snowflake, Databricks, data integration tools, quality tools, wrangling tools and various tools that can help data engineers and data scientists work with data.

• Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify requirements and use-cases, create solutions that leverage big data and cloud technologies, and drive the technical architecture and implementation plan.

• Provide big data subject matter expertise during technical consultations by business and product groups or other solutions architects

• Evaluate, recommend, design, and implement on-premise and on cloud big data technologies and infrastructure that enable a high performing, scalable, secure and stable solutions

• Work with development, infrastructure, test, support, and other concerned teams to ensure proper implementation of new capabilities, technologies, infrastructure, and solutions

• Define standards, policies and best practices

• Create architecture and technical design documents to communicate solutions to implementing teams

• Develop proofs-of-concept, minimum viable products, prototypes, and product demos

• Provide effort and budget estimates for the solution

• Champion data privacy and information security laws, policies and standards

• Bring industry best practices to turn data into a strategic asset and foster data-driven decision making

Requirements

• 10 years of broad information technology experience

• Proven track record of architecting and building large scale distributed big data systems on-premises and in the cloud

• Hands-on experience with Hadoop, Spark, MPP, NoSQL or other big data platforms

• Hands-on experience with big data or streaming data tools

• Hands-on experience with programming languages typically used in big data solutions

• Deep understanding of traditional data warehousing, business intelligence, and data management concepts, principles and techniques

• Familiarity with the Philippine Data Privacy law

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high degree of comfort in speaking with senior executives at large companies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills paired with the ability to develop creative and efficient solutions

• Able to work both independently and collaborate effectively in various team settings

• Able to manage own learning and contribute to domain knowledge building
