KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enforce and monitor safety standards in fabrication plants and project sites involving glass and aluminum works.
  • Conduct daily toolbox meetings and safety orientations specific to glass handling, lifting, and installation.
  • Perform regular inspections of cutting machines, scaffolds, lifters, and PPE compliance.
  • Identify hazards such as improper glass storage, unsecured scaffolds, or unsafe lifting practices, and implement immediate corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit safety reports, incident/accident investigations, and corrective action plans.
  • Coordinate with engineers, project-in-charge, and foremen to integrate safety in all site activities.
  • Ensure compliance with DOLE Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS) and company HSE policies.
  • Promote a strong "safety-first" culture across all levels of the workforce.

QUALIFICATION:

  • Preferably graduates of courses related to Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Occupational Safety
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry, with direct exposure to glass and aluminum projects.

Must have completed mandatory DOLE-accredited safety training:

  • BOSH (Basic Occupational Safety and Health) – required for Safety Officer 2.
  • COSH (Construction Occupational Safety and Health) – required if assigned to construction projects.

Additional training/certifications are a plus:

  • First Aid / Basic Life Support (Red Cross or accredited provider)
  • Scaffolding Safety / Working at Heights (important for glass & aluminum installation)
  • Lifting/Material Handling Safety (for glass handling equipment)Strong knowledge of glass handling, cutting, lifting equipment, scaffolding, and aluminum installation safety practice

Additional Qualifications :

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reports and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; able to influence safe work practices among workers.
  • Keen attention to detail, highly organized, and proactive in hazard prevention.
