POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounting Assistant will support the Accounting department by performing clerical tasks, processing and recording financial transactions, updating ledgers, preparing reports, and assisting with various accounting functions. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process and record financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Prepare and send invoices to clients

• Monitor and follow up on outstanding accounts and payments

• Reconcile financial statements and accounts

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures

• Update and maintain accounting ledgers and databases

• Assist with preparation of financial reports and statements

• Support during audits by gathering required documentation

• File and organize financial documents and records

• Handle routine correspondence with clients and vendors

• Process expense reports and reimbursements

• Assist with payroll processing as needed

• Perform other administrative duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles.

• Experience with financial reporting and analysis.

• Experience with data entry and financial record-keeping.

• Problem-solving ability and analytical thinking.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Must have intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.

• Understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).

• CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA licensure is highly preferable

• Experience with US taxation is preferable

• Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)

Work Location

  • Home-based
  • M-F 9:00 PM - 6:00 AM (PH)
  • Should have strong internet connection (minimum of 20 mbps)
