  • Takes lead in the implementation of company safety policy.

  • Ensures that the workplace is safe for all workers and free from hazard.

  • Ensures that all workers are fit to work (physically and mentally).

  • Ensures that employees are educated and trained in performing their work in a safe manner.

  • Ensures that workers are provided with safety equipment.

  • Assists in conducting toolbox meetings.

  • Investigates accidents, and monitors and recommends remedial measures.

  • Provides emergency and palliative care to all employees within the legal scope of nursing responsibility in the absence of the company physician, this includes first aid, checking of vital signs, health interview, dispensing of medicine etc.

  • Assesses and determines health status of employee after an illness, in the absence of the company physician.

  • Assists in transporting ill and injured employee/s to hospital or home, and manages the patient in the absence of the company physician.

  • Conducts periodic site rounds to prevent health and safety hazard and to create safety awareness among employees.

  • Participates actively in disaster control programs, fire prevention, etc.

  • Conducts orientation for new employees regarding medical benefits.

  • Refers problems/cases to company physician for disposition and management.

  • Maintains individual health records and keeping its confidentiality.

  • Prepares and submits an annual medical report using DOLE / BWC forms.

  • Perform other relevant tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
