The Senior Director of Social Media and PR owns organic social growth, content quality, influencer alignment, and brand reputation. This is a hands-on leadership role. The candidate must be able to edit content, set direction, make fast decisions, and hold the team accountable to outcomes.

This role reports directly to the founder or to the head of marketing if added later.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Set monthly and quarterly social and PR priorities tied to launches, hero products, and revenue goals
  • Define platform strategy for Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest including posting standards and content focus
  • Write detailed content briefs with hooks, angles, and performance intent
  • Act as editor in chief for high impact content including videos, captions, and campaigns
  • Approve or reject content before it goes live
  • Own PR strategy including press outreach, gifting, launches, and earned media moments
  • Maintain relationships with key editors, stylists, and media contacts
  • Define influencer strategy and approve creator tiers, spend, and top tier partnerships
  • Run weekly social performance reviews and course correct quickly
  • Own crisis communication and brand reputation response

Required Background

  • 8+ years in social media, brand communications, PR, or digital marketing
  • Proven experience scaling a consumer brand through organic social
  • Direct experience editing short form content
  • Experience working with press or managing PR agencies
  • Strong written voice and cultural judgment
  • Comfort operating in fast moving, founder led environments
