Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Collections Manager to lead and optimize our accounts receivable operations. This role is key in maintaining strong cash flow, reducing DSO, and ensuring positive customer relationships while driving process improvements and compliance.


What You'll Do
  • Lead and develop the collections team to achieve department goals and implement best practices
  • Manage accounts receivable portfolio, reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), and maintain healthy aging reports
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to resolve payment issues and ensure timely collections
  • Analyze AR data to identify trends, resolve issues, and recommend process improvements
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Legal to resolve complex collection disputes
  • Implement and enforce collection policies aligned with company objectives
  • Prepare detailed AR reports including aging, collection metrics, and cash forecasts
  • Oversee customer credit applications, credit limit assignments, and periodic reviews
  • Manage relationships with collection agencies and legal partners for escalated cases
  • Lead AR-related month-end closing activities, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws/regulations
  • Train and mentor team members on collection strategies and customer service best practices

What You Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • 7+ years of collections experience, with at least 3 years in a management role
  • Proven track record of reducing DSO and improving AR performance metrics
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and collections laws/regulations
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel expertise required)
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and team development experience
  • Knowledge of credit analysis and risk assessment
  • Ability to enforce payment terms while maintaining professional customer relationships
  • Experience in manufacturing or B2B environment preferred
  • CCP (Certified Credit Professional) or similar certification is a plus
