PHP Cybersecurity Engineer

What You'll Do:

• Architect, implement, and maintain secure PHP applications on Career EDGE
• Integrate OWASP-guided secure coding practices into development workflows
• Perform threat modeling, code reviews, and penetration tests focused on PHP-based modules
• Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines with security gates (SAST, DAST)
• Collaborate with full-stack teams in Scrum ceremonies to bake security into every sprint
• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security incidents; drive root-cause fixes
• Stay current on PHP ecosystem vulnerabilities and contribute to risk assessments

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field
• 2+ years' professional PHP development experience, with at least 1 year focused on security
• Hands-on with PHP security tools (e.g. PHPStan, SonarQube, RIPS) and OWASP Top 10 mitigation
• Strongly prefer candidates with FedRAMP/SOC2 experience and AWS certifications
• Experience securing RESTful APIs (JSON/XML) and web apps, including authentication, authorization, and encryption
• Familiarity with Docker, Terraform, Jira, VS Code, Postman, and GitHub workflows
• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and clear, proactive communication
• Exposure to cloud-based platforms (AWS) and DevOps-driven security controls
• Comfortable working on Linux and Windows environments
