Senior Full Stack Developer (Web Applications)

At JoyRide Superapp, we're looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer who is passionate about more than just building features — you'll play a critical role in shaping our architecture, scalability, and overall technical strategy. As part of our engineering team, you'll own end-to-end solutions for both frontend and backend systems, while mentoring peers and driving innovation in our practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Develop: Lead the design and development of key features across both frontend and backend systems.
  • System Architecture: Architect scalable, efficient, and reliable web applications and backend services using React/Angular, , Python, and PostgreSQL.
  • Service Reliability: Own the reliability, performance, and scalability of services in high-traffic environments.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with Engineering Managers and Product teams to drive technical planning and execution of new features.
  • Mentorship: Guide junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, mentorship, and provide technical leadership.
  • Best Practices: Advocate for and introduce best practices in testing, code quality, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strategic Influence: Contribute to strategic technical decisions and long-term product roadmap planning.
  • Balance Speed and Quality: Ensure that solutions are delivered efficiently while maintaining maintainability and scalability.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 6+ years of full-stack software development, with a proven track record of building and delivering production-grade systems.
  • Frontend Expertise: Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, with hands-on experience in React (experience with Angular is a plus).
  • Backend Proficiency: Advanced experience with and/or Python for backend services.
  • Database Skills: Strong experience with database design and optimization using PostgreSQL (experience with NoSQL databases is a plus).
  • Cloud and Infrastructure: Experience working with AWS or GCP, including serverless functions and cloud-native architectures.
  • System Design: Solid understanding of system design, distributed systems, caching, and performance optimization.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to mentor others, drive technical discussions, and influence engineering direction.

Bonus Points

  • Prior experience in startups or in Transportation / Mobility as a Service (TMaas).
  • Experience building scalable, high-traffic web platforms.
  • Familiarity with automated testing, observability, and monitoring tools.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or engineering communities.
