Primary Responsibility:

• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• Linux administrator having 7 years of experience in UNIX operations support & AIX support along with good experience on any of Bash, Perl, Python Scripting language
• Experience of working on NFS servers
• Basic working knowledge on VMWare, vSphere, Virtual Centers Operations. Experience on Devops tools like CHEF, Ansible will be an additional advantage. Candidate must have experience working in an operational support role with an environment of 1000 UNIX servers
• Primary contribution involves being responsible for IT Infrastructure comprising of high end technology ,wherein the accountability will include 24x7 running of Unix servers, consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value
• The domain accountability includes Linux (Primary) & VmWare (Secondary) Server Administration
• Familiar with ticketing tools in order to track down incidents and break fix request
• Familiar with client/server troubleshooting related to different type of servers (SendMail, FTP, SSH, Network etc).
• Troubleshooting on virtual servers (knowledge of vSphere /Virtual Center preferred)
• User Administration and Account Management (LDAP and NIS)
• Clustering Technology is an added advantage [Veritas cluster (VCS) or RedHat Cluster] or HACMP
• Good knowledge on LVM/VxVM
• Good knowledge about SAN concepts, setting up, multi-pathing (device mapper) & troubleshooting SAN issues from the Linux OS side
• Periodic Quality Assurance/Server Hardening exercises for newly built servers.
• Able to troubleshoot servers through console (Knowledge of ILO/RAS/DRAC/HMC preferred)
• Skills on configuration of network and related services at operating system level like NFS,NIC Bonding, Sendmail, SSH and other TCP/IP services
• Good knowledge about UNIX system files, boot process and run levels
• Participate in On-Call and NOC duties on periodic basis
• Well versed with ITIL concepts such as Incident, Change and Problem Management

Preferred Qualification:

• Good knowledge on server compliance
