I. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.

  2. Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.

  3. Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.

  4. Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.

  5. Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations.

  6. Inspect operations and equipment to observe possible unsafe conditions

  7. Investigate accidents or incidents to discover root causes and corrective actions

  8. Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures

  9. Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics

  10. Responsible for representing the company during audits and facilitating auditor visits

  11. Responsible for obtaining and maintaining safety audit ratings (KPI's) and required database

  12. Maintains and promotes systems to collect data and report on safety related issues

  13. Maintains the Company's Emergency Response Plan

  14. Ensures all of the Company's Aviation Safety programs evolve as necessary to adapt to changing environment and safety challenges

  15. Establishes and maintains a formal method of safety communication

  16. Works with Safety Officers to ensure the total company safety plan meets or exceeds requirements to achieve company safety goals

  17. Facilitates and conducts Safety Risk Assessments (SRA) for the different job functions and operational policy and procedure changes.

  18. Prepares monthly safety activity reports and documents the outcome of accident investigations and safety inspections; recaps the safety training provided; and provides recommendations to improve safety.

  19. Develops and provides safety and Safety Management System training to employees; and conducts training needs analysis.

II. QUALIFICATIONS

· Proven experience as a Safety Manager

· SMS Course or equivalent qualification

· Sound knowledge of legal health and safety guidelines (experience in the Aviation environment preferred)

· Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies

· Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment

· Excellent organizational and motivational skills

· Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities

· BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred

· Valid qualification in occupational health and safety

· Some travel within the Philippines required
