About The TeamThe Strategic Midmile Lead plays a critical role in enabling the seamless movement of inventory across SCommerce's domestic warehouse network, with particular focus on inter-warehouse transfers and Luzon-to-VisMin shipments. This role drives operational continuity by ensuring timely and cost-efficient truck deployment through effective coordination with internal teams, warehouse partners, and transport vendors.You will act as the bridge between planning, execution, and vendor performance, leading initiatives that improve container utilization, reduce turnaround times, and strengthen the integrity of the transport network.Job DescriptionTransport Planning & DeploymentLead the end-to-end midmile operations for warehouse-to-warehouse (WH-to-WH) transfers.Ensure container vans are deployed on time and in full (OTIF), based on weekly material forecasts.Collaborate with planning, inventory, and warehouse teams to align schedules and avoid bottlenecks.Stakeholder & Vendor CoordinationServe as the central point of contact for stakeholders including SCommerce Planning, SPX Midmile, Origin & Destination WH Teams.Engage with 3PL trucking vendors to manage truck capacity, scheduling, and issue resolution.Conduct root cause analysis of delays and deploy corrective and preventive actions.Container Utilization & EfficiencyDrive and sustain >95% CBM fill rate through data-driven consolidation strategies.Monitor and improve truck and manpower productivity, NFTE performance, and container turnarounds.Process Monitoring & Continuous ImprovementAnalyze key handover timestamps: container arrival, loading, departure, and receiving.Recommend and implement process improvements in dispatch readiness and vendor service levels.Collaborate on forecasting volume trends to anticipate needs and optimize transport plans.Cross-Functional Projects & Launch SupportSupport ramp-up of new warehouses, handling volume transitions and coordinating with Expansion, WH Ops, and BI teams.Contribute to cross-functional logistics initiatives, particularly those impacting inter-DC movement and transport performance.Reporting & Strategic AlignmentWork closely with the Logistics Ops Business Partner on execution, reporting, and data accuracy.Provide regular updates to leadership on network performance, vendor metrics, risks, and cost-saving initiatives.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.At least 5 years of experience in midmile logistics, warehouse execution, or fleet operations.Strong background in transport vendor management and inter-DC logistics.Comfortable with transport KPIs, performance dashboards, and forecasting tools.Experience in truck supply/demand planning and warehouse dispatch processes.Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets; experience with WMS or transport dashboards is a strong plus.Knowledge in CBM utilization, load planning, and container dispatch.Familiarity with the PH e-commerce logistics landscape is an advantage.Strategic and execution-focused: can balance long-term planning with day-to-day action.Strong communicator and influencer, capable of aligning internal and external teams.Highly organized, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.
