ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly capable and commercially astute Business Analyst to bridge the gap between operational business needs and technical solutions. Reporting to the Head of Business Systems and working closely with operations, finance, and IT teams, you will play a central role in eliciting and translating business requirements into actionable configurations, data models, process maps, and reporting dashboards.

This role requires a unique blend of analytical thinking, financial modelling expertise, and business process insight — particularly in the context of HVAC and Electrical business environments. Your ability to engage stakeholders, challenge assumptions, and deliver pragmatic solutions will drive significant business impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Requirements & Process Design

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect, analyse, and document business requirements.
  • Translate requirements into clear, structured process flows, SOPs, and functional specifications.
  • Design and optimise workflows within ticketing and work management systems.
  • Lead workshops and interviews to understand and document current vs future-state processes.

System Configuration & Data Modelling

  • Configure and maintain field service and business systems to reflect operational and commercial requirements.
  • Build and maintain automated dashboards and operational reports using PowerBI.
  • Ensure high data integrity and traceability across operational and financial reporting domains.
  • Financial & Commercial Modelling
  • Develop and maintain cost and pricing models tailored to HVAC and Electrical services.
  • Support pricing strategy development and margin analysis using real-world operational and supplier data.
  • Conduct profitability analysis and sensitivity testing to support commercial decision-making.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Reporting

  • Present insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders using clear, visual storytelling.
  • Support internal reporting cycles with data extracts, KPI reports, and workflow insights.

ABOUT YOU

You are a technically capable and commercially minded analyst who thrives on solving complex business problems through structured thinking and clear communication. You bring both a keen eye for operational detail and a strategic understanding of financial levers in the services industry.

You will have:

  • 5+ years' experience in a business analyst, systems analyst, or reporting analyst role.
  • Proven experience configuring ticketing/work management systems (e.g. HappyFox, ZenDesk, Zoho)
  • Proficiency in PowerBI with experience developing interactive dashboards and data models.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen with experience in cost modelling and pricing in service industries.
  • Strong understanding of business process modelling and documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.

Highly Regarded:

  • Exposure to HVAC, Electrical or other technical trades-based environments.
  • Prior experience working in contracting, field services, or facilities management industries.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and integration concepts.
