Job Summary:
The Accounting Officer is responsible for managing the financial records of the organization, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting budgeting and financial planning activities. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, overseeing transactions, and supporting audits and financial reviews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records, ledgers, and journals.
- Record all financial transactions promptly and accurately.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Monitor accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely collections and payments.
- Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on discrepancies.
- Bank Reconciliation:
- Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of records.
- Budgeting and Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
- Audit & Compliance:
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, laws, and internal controls.
- 7. Tax and Statutory Returns (Philippines)
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation, filing, and payment of all tax obligations including:
- Value-Added Tax (VAT)
- Expanded Withholding Tax
- Compensation Withholding Tax
- Corporate Income Tax
- Annual Information Returns and Alphalists
- Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor and manage daily cash flow and prepare regular cash flow forecasts.
- General Ledger:
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience:
- 2–5 years of experience in accounting or finance-related roles.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, etc.)
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
