Position Overview

The Team Leader supports the Store Supervisor/Owner in running day-to-day canteen operations, ensuring smooth workflow, accurate inventory handling, and basic financial monitoring. This role is a working leader who sets the example on the floor, guiding staff in food preparation, service, and customer care.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations

  • Lead daily opening and closing procedures.
  • Assist in food preparation, portioning, and service when needed.
  • Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with health standards.
  • Handle customer concerns during the shift.
  • Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to maintain smooth operations.

Inventory & Supplies

  • Check and monitor stock levels daily.
  • Ensure FIFO (First-In, First-Out) is practiced to minimize waste.
  • Record usage of ingredients and supplies per shift.
  • Assist in receiving, inspecting, and logging deliveries.
  • Report low stock or discrepancies immediately to the supervisor/owner.

Finance Monitoring

  • Monitor daily sales transactions and cash handling.
  • Assist in reconciling cash vs. sales report at end of shift.
  • Report variances in collections or expenses.
  • Help in monitoring food cost and portion control.

Team Leadership

  • Assign tasks to team members during the shift.
  • Train new staff on service, portion control, and hygiene practices.
  • Motivate and guide staff to deliver fast and friendly service.
  • Enforce discipline and teamwork on the floor.

Reporting

  • Submit end-of-shift checklist:
  • Sales summary
  • Inventory usage and wastage
  • Staff attendance/performance issues
  • Customer feedback

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years experience in food service (karenderia, canteen, or fast food).
  • Strong skills in inventory control and basic financial monitoring.
  • Leadership experience in small teams preferred.
  • Can work in fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Trustworthy, organized, and customer-oriented.
