Job Title: Accounting Assistant Manager

Job Summary:

The Accounting Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing and supporting the daily operations of the accounting department. This role involves supervising accounting staff, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently to support the organization's financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the accounting team, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.

  • Review and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions, journal entries, and reconciliations.

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets.

  • Collaborate with auditors during audits and ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and company policies.

  • Monitor and improve accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

  • Provide mentorship and training to junior accounting staff.

  • Stay updated on accounting regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance.

  • Prepare reports and documentation as required by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.

  • Proven experience in accounting, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards (GAAP or IFRS), and financial regulations.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Office Suite.

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based environment with standard working hours.

  • May require occasional overtime during peak financial periods or audits.
