We are looking for a proactive and results-driven
Assistant Accounting Manager
to support the Finance Manager in leading the company's accounting operations. This role will oversee end-to-end financial management processes, ensure compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and tax regulations, and provide strategic insights to strengthen the organization's financial performance. The Assistant Accounting Manager will play a key role in mentoring the accounting team, streamlining processes, and supporting management in critical decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance of the company's Books of Accounts, ensuring compliance with PFRS and Philippine Auditing Standards.
- Review and approve Financial Statements and management reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with business needs.
- Manage the Fixed Assets Register, including acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, and adjustments.
- Supervise the preparation and posting of adjusting journal entries; ensure completeness of Balance Sheet and Income Statement account schedules.
- Lead variance analysis and provide actionable recommendations to senior management.
- Present monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports to management, highlighting key performance drivers.
- Ensure strict compliance with BIR registrations, issuances, and filings, as well as other statutory requirements.
- Act as key point of contact during internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit matters.
- Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of accounting and finance policies, systems, and controls.
- Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) teams, driving process efficiency and accuracy.
- Mentor and coach junior accountants to strengthen overall team capability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Graduate of BS Accountancy (CPA a PLUS).
- Minimum of 5 years progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or assistant manager role.
- Strong expertise in Financial Statement preparation, AP/AR management, and tax compliance.
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software (required).
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel; strong skills in financial closing, reporting, and reconciliations.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Willing to work onsite and can start immediately.
