HSEQ & Contracts Support
, you will play a critical role in ensuring Principal Contractor obligations under Australian WHS legislation are met through remote compliance management.

What Youll Be Working On
Principal Contractor HSEQ Management (Remote)
- Develop and maintain project-specific HSEQ documentation, including:
- WHS Management Plans
- Site-specific risk assessments
- Construction Safety Management Plans (where required)
- Emergency response and escalation procedures
- Ensure all Principal Contractor duties are met through documented controls, approvals, and verification processes
- Establish remote verification methods (photos, videos, checklists, sign-offs) to confirm site controls
Project Compliance & Contract Review
- Review contracts, scopes, and client specifications to identify compliance obligations
- Translate requirements into enforceable procedures, checklists, and documentation
- Maintain digital project compliance registers and evidence packs
- Ensure all documentation is approved, current, and accessible prior to work commencement
Subcontractor Compliance & Control
- Prequalify subcontractors against Principal Contractor compliance standards
- Review and approve SWMS, risk assessments, licences, insurances, and competencies
- Control site access through documentation approval and induction completion
- Reject or suspend subcontractors who fail to meet compliance requirements
Remote Site Verification & Oversight
- Implement and manage remote site verification processes, including:
- Photo and video evidence
- Digital site checklists
- Supervisor sign-offs
- Subcontractor declarations
- Review compliance evidence and follow up deficiencies
- Escalate high-risk issues to management immediately
Incident, Risk & Non-Conformance Management
- Manage incident and near-miss reporting remotely
- Lead investigations using interviews, documentation reviews, and digital evidence
- Maintain risk registers, hazard logs, and corrective action trackers
- Ensure notifiable incidents are escalated and reported correctly
Contract Administration & Risk Management
- Manage contract documentation, variations, and compliance obligations
- Track contractual safety, quality, and reporting requirements
- Identify and escalate contractual risks impacting Principal Contractor obligations
- Support project teams with compliance-focused contract interpretation
Client, Audit & Regulatory Interface
- Act as the remote compliance contact for clients, auditors, and regulators
- Prepare and submit compliance documentation and audit evidence
- Coordinate audit responses and information requests
- Maintain audit-ready records at all times
Training, Inductions & Communication
- Coordinate remote inductions and project briefings
- Maintain digital training and competency records
- Issue safety alerts, toolbox talks, and compliance updates
- Reinforce Principal Contractor compliance expectations across all parties
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Provide regular HSEQ and contract compliance reports to management
- Track trends in incidents, non-conformances, and subcontractor performance
- Recommend improvements to remote compliance and verification processes
- Capture lessons learned and embed improvements into future projects
What Were Looking For
- Background or experience in HSEQ, safety compliance, contract administration, or documentation control
- Experience supporting Australian clients or projects (highly preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reports, audits, and compliance correspondence
- Proactive mindset with strong documentation and evidence-based decision-making skills
- High attention to detail with excellent documentation control and record-keeping abilities
- Confidence in following up, enforcing compliance requirements, and escalating risks
- Comfortable using digital systems for document management, verification, reporting, and tracking
- Highly organized, process-driven, and able to manage high-volume compliance workflows
Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge of Australian WHS regulations and Principal Contractor requirements
- Background or experience in HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, Quality) roles
- Safety Officer training or certifications
- Experience in fire protection, safety, construction, or compliance-related industries
- Willing to start as soon as possible
