Job Description
- This Product Owner will be responsible for the vision, roadmap, and execution of digital products. This includes defining "epics" (e.g., User Onboarding, Service Booking, Internal Workflow) and breaking them down into "stories" (e.g., Account Creation, Appointment Scheduling, Data Entry). The Product Owner will leverage data, customer feedback, and stakeholder input to prioritize and deliver features that enhance the overall experience.
Responsibilities include:
Owning the end-to-end experience within a designated digital product or feature set.
- Defining the roadmap, prioritizing features, and ensuring a seamless user experience for customers interacting with the product or feature set to manage their needs.
- Developing and optimizing digital tools used by internal stakeholders or specific user groups.
- Designing and implementing features that streamline workflows, improve data management, and enhance communication for relevant internal users.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Executive Sponsors, Program Managers, Product Managers, Product Owners, UI/UX Designers, Researchers, Data Analysts, and IT, to ensure a holistic view of the digital product and alignment with business goals and user needs.
Define and manage product journeys for both customer-facing and internal tools.
- Develop and maintain a product roadmap that aligns with business goals and customer/user needs, focusing on journey optimization.
- Gather and prioritize requirements for each epic and story within a journey, using data analytics, customer feedback, and stakeholder input.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager, UI/UX Designer, Business Analyst, QA and development teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of product features.
- Work with Service Designers, Researchers, Data Analysts, and other stakeholders to translate insights into actionable plans for improving journeys.
- Create user stories and lead the development of acceptance criteria and other requirements documentation.
- Monitor and track the performance of product journeys and epics, using metrics and analytics to identify areas for improvement.
- Facilitate workshops and problem-solving sessions with development teams and stakeholders.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
MINIMUM educational level and background required by this POSITION:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Relevant Coursework: Strong preference for candidates with a background in project management, product management, agile methodologies, data analytics, and/or business analysis.
- Certification: Product Owner certification (e.g., CSPO, PSPO) is a plus.
- Experience: Equivalent professional experience in project management, business analysis, software development, product management or a related field may be considered in place of a degree.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
PERIOD OF TIME OR LENGTH of related experience the CANDIDATE must acquire before being assigned to and perform the functions of this job, SATISFACTORILY under NORMAL supervision:
A minimum of 5 years of related experience is required. This experience should be in a Product Owner role or a similar position with a focus on digital product development, agile methodologies, and user-centered design. The candidate should also possess a strong base in project management.
