About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our fast-paced BPO legal team in the Philippines. In this role, you will provide essential support to our in-house and international legal teams, managing a diverse range of legal and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our legal processes. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, possesses strong organizational and communication skills, and is dedicated to providing high-quality support to our clients and legal professionals.
Work hours: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm PH time
Work set-up: Hybrid (predominantly remote, with once a week onsite either in our Mandaluyong or Makati offices)
What you'll do
Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations to support legal teams in various practice areas, including corporate law, litigation, and compliance. Analyze and summarize complex legal issues and documents to extract key information and assist in developing legal arguments.
Document Drafting and Management: Draft and prepare a variety of legal documents, such as contracts, motions, and correspondence. Organize, maintain, and update case files and other legal documents, ensuring accuracy and proper labeling.
Legal Project Leadership: Take the lead on small to medium-sized legal projects, from planning to execution, ensuring they meet deadlines and objectives.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the legal team's operations.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Be responsible for monthly reporting and monitoring of specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to legal projects and departmental efficiency.
Case and Project Support: Assist with the preparation for trials, hearings, and corporate meetings by organizing exhibits, compiling evidence, and managing documents. Assist in due diligence and regulatory filings.
Client and Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between attorneys, clients, witnesses, and other stakeholders of the business. Communicate with clients to provide case status updates and respond to inquiries. Schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions.
Administrative and Compliance Tasks: Manage administrative matters of the legal team. Ensure adherence to legal regulations and confidentiality standards.
What You Bring
Education: A bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field such as Political Science or Legal Management. Completion of a paralegal training program is a strong advantage.
Experience: Proven experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant in a legal setting, with at least two years of experience preferred. Experience working with international legal teams is a plus.
Legal Knowledge: A strong understanding of the judicial system, legal terminology, and procedures.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in legal software, case management systems, and e-filing. Must be proficient in using Google Workspace and Zoho Desk.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Adaptability: The ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Professionalism: High level of professionalism and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
