DESCRIPTION OF BASIC FUNCTIONS:

The Project Development Specialist is responsible for the planning, formulation, evaluation, and coordination of projects and programs from conceptualization to implementation and project turnover. The role involves implementation of project's feasibility studies, preparing project proposals, coordinating with all departments and stakeholders, monitoring project performance, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals, funding requirements, and regulatory standards.

  1. Project Planning and Formulation


•  Identify and assess potential projects aligned with organizational objectives.


•   Conduct needs assessments, implementation of feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses.

•   Prepare detailed project proposals, concept notes, and implementation plans.

Ø     
•   Develop logical frameworks, work breakdown structures, and project timelines.

  1. Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement

•   Collaborate with internal teams, partners, and external agencies for project inputs.

•   Facilitate meetings, consultations, and validation workshops with different departments.

  1. Documentation and Reporting

Ø     
•   Draft project reports, presentations, and documentation for management and funding agencies.

Ø     
•   Maintain records of project activities, budget utilization, and progress indicators.

Ø     
•   Support preparation of technical, financial, and completion reports.

  1. Monitoring and Evaluation

Ø     
•   Track project milestones and deliverables to ensure timely and quality implementation.

Ø     
•   Recommend corrective actions for project delays or performance issues.

  1. Resource Mobilization and Budgeting

Ø     
•   Assist in identifying potential funding sources and preparing grant applications.

Ø     
•   Prepare project budgets and financial forecasts.

Ø     
•   Monitor resource allocation and cost efficiency throughout the project cycle.

  1. Risk and Compliance Management

Ø     
•   Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Ø     
•   Ensure compliance with government regulations and internal policies.
