Job Description:

  1. Waste Handling & Segregation

  2. Properly segregates waste (hazardous, non - hazardous, recyclables).

  3. Ensures correct labelling of waste containers and storage areas.
  4. Handles, transfers, and stores hazardous materials safely following RA 6969 standard.

Special Task: Battery Handling & Management

  • Identifies and segregates different types of batteries (Lithium-ion, Lead-acid, NiMH, Alkaline).
  • Ensures proper isolation of lithium batteries to prevent short circuits and thermal runaway.

  • Assists in preparing batteries for transport following DENR and transporter requirements.

  • Facility Cleanliness & Environmental Compliance

  • Conduct daily compliance monitoring of environmental compliance

  • Maintains the cleanliness of production, waste storage, and processing areas.
  • Ensures environmental controls (dust, noise, spills) are properly managed.

  • Helps maintain compliance with DENR, LGU, and interval environmental policies.

  • Environmental Monitoring

  • Assist in monitoring waste volumes, chemical levels, air filters. or drainage conditions.

  • Helps identify potential environmental risk in the facility.

  • Supports corrective action activities when needed.

  • Spill Prevention & Emergency Response

  • Uses spill kits correctly during leaks or chemical spills.

  • Follows emergency procedures for fires, spills, or accidents.

  • Immediately reports incidents to the Safety Officer or Supervisor.

  • Documentation & Reporting

  • Records waste movement logs, manifests, or receiving forms.

  • Updates daily operational checklists.

  • Assists in preparing reports for internal audits or DENR requirements.

  • Support to Environmental and Safety Programs

  • Participates in safety drills, tool-box meetings, and environmental training.

  • Implements environmental programs (waste reduction, recycling, proper hazardous waste management).

  • Ensures PPE is worn and used properly at all times.

  • Collaboration & Coordination

  • Coordinates with transporters or haulers during waste pickup.

  • Follows instructions from Supervisors related to environmental tasks.
