Operational Function

  1. Coverage Accountability

    • Supervises and calls on assigned outlets in the territory at the assigned frequency following the coverage plan agreed upon.

  2. Opens and develops new outlets and trading areas for eventual fold-in to the official coverage regularly.

  3. Distribution Responsibilities

  4. Ensures that the agreed levels of distribution of products are maintained in the most number of outlets in his territorial coverage at all times.

  5. Ensures all new brand/product drives are achieved within the area of coverage.

  6. Merchandising & Pricing Responsibilities

  7. The operations manager, through his salespeople, is solely responsible for the merchandising of products in all the outlets they cover.

  8. Maintains proper resale pricing on products vs. price list of major competition.

  9. Customer Service Responsibilities

  10. Ensures that excellent customer handling programs are executed to all his customers (i.e. on-time and accurate delivery, damaged merchandise handling, service levels).

  11. Leads high level implementations of Business Programs, making the House Account the center of expertise for his area.

  12. Organizational Development & Effectiveness

  13. The operations manager will provide leadership & direction in achieving best results of his organization.

  16. Company Directed Responsibilities

  17. The operations manager:

  18. Sells the business programs to General Manager & Managing Director.

  19. Sets the business objectives (coverage, distribution, pricing/merchandising) together with the Managing Director.

  20. Develops plans together with the Managing Director.

  21. Installs agreed control procedures and work towards the achievement of these objectives.

  22. Deploys promotions/merchandising programs to Distributor Sales Supervisor via Distributor Cycle Meetings.

  23. Recommends strategies that ensure the viability of the program.

  24. Executes the following Sales Objectives aggressively and with excellence:

  26. Distribution Standards

  27. Merchandising Standards

  28. Customer Service Standards
