Role Overview:

The Product Development team is a multi-disciplinary team across product management, product development, commercialization, and market readiness disciplines. The team contributes and develops large-scale/high-impact projects with local and regional partners throughout cross-functional areas of the Bank.

As a team, we contribute to the growth of the Bank's business by introducing, creating, and implementing new business models and revenue streams through product creation and ideation; integrating products into and with present bank products, and operations executed through the digital channels and ecosystems of the Bank and the clients it serves.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Determines customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information.
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements, appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
  • Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production.
  • Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.
  • Manage three or more projects or products by applying market and product strategy to keep the market engaged
  • Drive the product and business-planning process across cross-functional teams of the company
  • Analyze consumer needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships from an ROI and build vs. buy perspective
  • Assess current competitor offerings, seeking opportunities for differentiation
  • Analyze product requirements and develop appropriate programs to ensure they're successful achieved
  • Develop, implement, and maintain production timelines across multiple departments
  • Appraise new product ideas and strategize appropriate to-market plans

On a daily and monthly basis, the Product Development Lead is expected to:

  • Drive the execution of all product lifecycle processes for products, including product research, market research, competitive analysis, planning, positioning, roadmap development, requirements development, and product launch
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototype construction and final product development by engineering teams
  • Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, revenue, and ROI
  • Analyze market data to develop sales strategies, and define product objectives for effective marketing communications plans
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, marketing, and sales teams on the development, QA, and release of products and balance of resources to ensure success for the entire organization
  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates UnionDigital's loan products and its features across primary market segments
  • Cover pre-product and post product launch requirements and documentation to get products/projects launched.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Product Owner or under a Product Development Role in a financial institution or a bank.
  • Extensive experience in dynamic product management roles with a strong track record of success.
  • Knowledgeable of regulatory requirements such as BSP is a plus.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing all phases of the product development lifecycle, from concept to launch.
  • Highly skilled in leading cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration across departments.
  • Proven ability to craft and execute well-defined product development and marketing strategies.
  • Strong communication skills, including exceptional writing, editing, presentation, and public speaking capabilities.
  • Proficient in analyzing market data, customer insights, and ROI to inform strategic product decisions.
  • Adept at developing innovative solutions that address both customer and business needs in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical and strategic concepts to diverse audiences.
