About the Role:

We are hiring three full-time French interpreters based in the Philippines to support our Medical Triage Telephone Services. You will play a vital role in facilitating clear and compassionate communication between French-speaking patients and healthcare professionals during both urgent and routine medical calls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide live/real-time French-English interpretation for medical triage calls
  • Accurately convey symptoms, instructions, and concerns between patients and nurses
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and interpreter ethics
  • Collaborate with triage staff to ensure culturally respectful communication
  • Participate in training and quality assurance reviews

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in French and English
  • Based in the Philippines
  • Prior experience in medical or community interpreting preferred
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus
  • Certification (e.g., CCHI, NBCMI) preferred but not required
  • Has own equipment, reliable internet connection, and quiet remote work setup

Work Schedule & Location:

· Shifting Schedule: 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year

· Location: Fully remote: services delivered via telephone and VPN access to GSU systems.

· Contract Term: Initial 3-year period with potential for intermittent support based on evolving needs

Additional Requirements:

· Cultural awareness and respectful communication with American Indian and Alaska Native populations

· Basic computer literacy

· Completion of mandatory government orientation and training (e.g., ISSA, Privacy Act, Rules of Behavior)

· Successful completion of Level I and II background checks with favorable adjudication

· Adherence to the Federal Code of Conduct and Public Law Indian Children Protection and Family Violence Protection Act)
