Job Summary:

The Building Maintenance Head is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of retail facilities, ensuring a safe, secure, and efficient environment for customers and employees. This role manages maintenance teams, coordinates with contractors, and ensures compliance with safety, health, and building regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily building maintenance operations including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and repair costs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations in all maintenance activities.
  • Oversee repairs and maintenance requests from retail store operations and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, monitor expenses, and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs and projects.
  • Inspect facilities regularly to identify issues and ensure building systems are functioning properly.
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate performance of maintenance staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment history.
  • Support retail operations by ensuring facilities are clean, safe, and operational at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or related field (preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience in building/facility maintenance, with 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, etc.).
  • Familiarity with safety standards, building codes, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
