About the role

Macquarie Preparatory School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team in Quezon City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position, and the ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our young learners' development and fostering a nurturing, enriching environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting the Lead Teacher in planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities that promote holistic development in areas such as language, literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills
  • Providing individualised attention and support to students, ensuring their safety, care, and well-being
  • Collaborating with the teaching team to create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to student progress and development
  • Participating in regular staff meetings, professional development, and school events
  • Actively engaging in ongoing learning and development to enhance your teaching skills and knowledge

What we're looking for

  • A bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, or a related field, with a strong passion for working with young children
  • Related fields accepted include Education degrees with appropriate specialisation
  • At least 1-2 years of experience as an Assistant Teacher or in a similar role within an early childhood setting
  • The experience requirement allows some flexibility for candidates with exceptional qualifications or relevant background
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • A nurturing, patient, and creative approach to teaching, with a commitment to fostering a child-centred learning environment
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Fluency in English and the local language
  • Basic conversational level of local language proficiency is required
