Key Responsibilities:

  1. Instructional Planning and Delivery:

  2. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.

  4. Use a variety of teaching methods, including hands-on activities, technology, and visual aids, to engage students.
  5. Teach core subjects such as math, reading, and writing, as well as life skills and social-emotional learning.

  6. Assessment and Progress Monitoring:

  7. Assess students' abilities, strengths, and areas for improvement through formal and informal evaluations.

  8. Track and document students' progress toward IEP goals and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
  9. Create assessment tools that are tailored to what are the students' needs in a mainstream/regular and one on one sessions.
  10. Prepare progress reports and share updates with parents, guardians, and school staff.

  11. Classroom Management:

  12. Create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment that fosters student engagement and independence.

  13. Implement positive behavior support strategies and manage classroom dynamics effectively.

  14. Collaboration and Communication:

  15. Work closely with general education teachers, therapists, counselors, and other support staff to coordinate services.

  16. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss students' progress and address concerns.
  17. Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions.

  18. Support and Advocacy:

  19. Advocate students' needs within the school and community.

  20. Provide guidance and support to teaching assistants or paraprofessionals working with students.
  21. Stay informed about best practices, legal requirements, and advancements in special education.
