Job Description


• Evaluate credit risk for all Commercial accounts, Corporate accounts, Large Conglomerates and Group Relationships and Financial Institutions.


• Review merits for special transactions, Project Finance proposals and Term Loans.


• Review industry and market updates and evaluate impact of relevant industry developments across all borrowers


• Ensures that risk ratings assigned to Commercial and Corporate Banking Group accounts are appropriate and accurate prior to presentation and approval


• Ensures the accuracy of input data and scores (Optimist Financial Spreadsheet and Risk Rating and Risk Asset Acceptance Criteria (RAAC)) in accordance with the approved Risk Rating System of the Bank. Also reviews the spreadsheets, risk rating and RAAC sheets prepared by risk officers in accordance with the approved Risk Rating System of the Bank.


• Promote credit quality through timely credit reviews and contribute to early detection of weak credit
• Approves credit lines based on approved lending limits and loan transactions


• Reviews Credit Application prepared by the business. Provide independent credit assessment for all the proposals


• Contributes to the effectiveness of the credit control function and minimizes losses


• Continually re-assess the risks inherent in the business by taking into account changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructuring and the impact of new technology.


• Performs Crecom Secretariat function


• Oversees the repository of all credit media

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 3-5 years of banking experience at executive level with bank with exposure in Corporate/ Commercial Banking
  • Broad understanding of technical and professional advances and business strategies, market trends and competitor developments in the area of responsibility
  • Strong analytical skills with good understanding of financial statements and accounting ratios
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Self-motivated, results oriented and a very strong team player.
