DUTIES:

  • Carries out safety inspections of construction workplaces and takes appropriate action to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate to the Safety Head for all concerns in his department
  • Responds to and investigates complaints and concerns from workers/employers and takes appropriate action.
  • Investigates accidents and injuries that occur in the workplace.
  • Responsible for the establishment of workplace safety and health committees, and monitors their performance.
  • May participate in the delivery of related educational/training programs and disseminates information to the public.
  • Assists in the training and/or supervision of all workers on site.
  • Performs prescribed daily toolbox, hygiene surveys within the project site using technical equipment, evaluates all hazards and takes appropriate action .
  • Prepares various reports, documents and forms required by DOLE. May supervise subordinate staff.
  • Is responsible for the workplace safety and health operations in a specified region.
  • May be required to participate in the budget preparation and control process.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the PM
  • Working knowledge of The Workplace Safety and Health Act and related legislation.
  • Knowledge of enforcement procedures on a daily too box meeting
  • Ability to maintain effective work relationships.
  • Perform other related task as required by his immediate supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Coordinates with the PIC and Safety Head for daily to monthly monitoring safety updates and other requirements.
  • Knowledge of the interface between labor and management in the workplace. Knowledge of industrial hygiene survey techniques.
  • Good supervisory skills
  • WITH TRAINING SUCH AS

-FIRST AID, LCM etc.

-Knowledgeable in risk assessment

-COSH

-Mandatory forty (40) hour basic COSH training course applicable to the construction industry;

-Additional forty-eight (48) hours of advanced/specialized occupational safety training course relevant to the industry;

-Other requirements as prescribed by the COSH standards;

-At least one (1) year of experienced in COSH

  • A one (1) year experienced as SO2 in a High rise construction is required.
