Admin Estimator (Cubit Software)
Reports To: Senior Estimator / Estimating Manager / Head of Preconstruction
Job Summary:
The Admin Estimator supports the estimating team by performing quantity take-offs, preparing Bill of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, vendor quotes, and administrative tasks using Cubit software. The role ensures that tenders, internal cost proposals, and auxiliary documentation are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Formal training or certification in cost estimating, quantity surveying, or construction economics is a plus.
- Proficiency / formal training in Cubit software (or related estimating / take-off tools).
Experience:
- Recommended 1–3 years (or more, depending on seniority) experience in construction estimating, quantity surveying, or related role.
- Prior experience specifically using Cubit (or similar estimating software) is strongly preferred.
- Experience in preparing BOQs, cost breakdowns, and tender submissions.
- Experience in liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and managing proposals.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting architectural, structural, mechanical drawings and specifications.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Cubit estimating / take-off software (importing plans, tracing, linking to cost items).
- Strong grasp of construction materials, labor, equipment, trade costs, and construction methods.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) — Excel skills especially (formulas, pivot tables, lookups).
- Ability to maintain and manage cost databases, master price lists, and estimation templates.
- Good understanding of variations, scope change management, value engineering.
Additional / Preferred
- Experience in the specific sector your company works in (e.g. commercial fit-out, residential, infrastructure).
- Exposure to cost control / post contract / site measurement tasks.
- Experience working with multi-discipline trades (electrical, mechanical, finishes).
- Prior experience in bidding / tender processes.
- Good English proficiency (reading, writing, communicating) if dealing with overseas clients or technical documents (in some local roles this is required).
