About the Role

We're looking for a Cost Estimator with fire industry experience to deliver accurate and reliable project estimates for fire protection systems and related works. You'll play a key role in analysing requirements, developing cost proposals, and supporting project teams with financial insights that ensure successful and compliant builds.

Ideal Candidate (Must Have Requirements)
  • Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in cost estimation or quantity surveying, ideally within the fire protection, mechanical, or building services industry.
  • Strong understanding of fire systems, fire suppression, or fire safety equipment components and installation costs.
  • Proficiency in estimation tools, spreadsheets, and general office software.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet deadlines.
  • Employee work setup will depend on the client's discretion.
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and fire protection layouts to determine scope and requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and installation.
  • Analyse supplier and subcontractor quotes for fire system components.
  • Maintain accurate and updated cost databases for past projects and current market pricing.
  • Identify potential risks, cost variances, and opportunities for value engineering.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project objectives.
  • Support tender preparation, proposals, and budget submissions.
  • Provide ongoing cost monitoring and variance analysis during project execution.
