Senior SEO Specialist
with deep, hands-on experience in growing organic visibility across traditional search engines (Google, Bing), conversational AI platforms (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.), and LLM-powered search (e.g. Perplexity, Claude). This is a high-impact role for someone who understands the future of search and is ready to lead SEO innovation across emerging platforms.

You'll work cross-functionally with content, product, web, and analytics teams to define, execute, and evolve a comprehensive organic growth strategy that adapts to both established and emerging search environments.

Key Responsibilities

SEO Strategy Development

  • Define and lead SEO strategies that drive growth across Google, Bing, and AI-powered discovery platforms.
  • Conduct opportunity analysis to improve rankings, traffic, and visibility for high-intent topics and keywords.
  • Integrate AI Search & LLM-SEO strategies into the broader SEO roadmap (e.g., optimization for Featured Snippets, ChatGPT mentions, SGE, etc.).

On-Page SEO Optimisation

  • Lead on-page SEO improvements across both new and existing content, ensuring alignment with search intent, entity coverage, and semantic structure.
  • Optimise metadata, headers, content formatting, internal linking, and keyword targeting to improve organic performance and retrieval by LLMs.

Content & Structured Data Optimisation

  • Collaborate with content and product teams to create and optimise content for relevance, ranking, and retrieval by AI chatbots and LLMs.
  • Lead schema markup and structured data initiatives to boost discoverability and contextual understanding.

Technical SEO

  • Audit and improve crawlability, indexation, site speed, mobile performance, internal linking, and technical site architecture.
  • Partner with developers to implement fixes and enhancements, especially those impacting LLM parsing and semantic web optimisation.

LLM and AI Discovery

  • Research and experiment with strategies to increase visibility in AI assistants and generative engines (e.g. ChatGPT Plugins, Perplexity citations).
  • Track and report presence in AI responses using emerging tracking tools or custom-built dashboards.

Performance Analytics

  • Own SEO KPIs including organic traffic, search visibility, keyword rankings, and assisted conversions.
  • Develop reporting to communicate impact and opportunities to stakeholders.

Client & Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal and client teams to educate stakeholders on best practices, search trends, and content optimisation techniques.
  • Deliver SEO training, documentation, and recommendations that empower teams to contribute to organic growth.

Innovation & Leadership

  • Stay at the forefront of SEO and AI search trends. Share insights and recommendations internally.
  • Educate internal teams on evolving search behaviours and LLM content frameworks.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on SEO experience with demonstrable success in organic growth, preferably for professional services, ecommerce, B2B and content-driven platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of technical SEO, on-page optimisation, structured data, and information architecture.
  • Deep understanding of AI-driven search (e.g. SGE, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) and how to optimise for LLM discovery.
  • Proficiency with tools like Google Search Console, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, GA4, Looker Studio, and custom dashboards.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JS basics, and CMS platforms (e.g. Webflow, WordPress, Shopify or headless CMS).
  • Experience in using or contributing to prompts/datasets to improve AI-driven discovery (bonus).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly explain SEO strategy to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work cross-functionally.
