The Electrical Cost Engineer is responsible for estimating, evaluating, and controlling the costs associated with electrical works in construction projects. This role ensures that all electrical components and systems are cost-efficient, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, standards, and timelines. The position involves coordination with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to maintain effective cost management throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical systems based on design drawings, plans, and project specifications.
  • Analyze project requirements and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Review and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Develop and maintain cost databases for electrical materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Monitor actual project costs versus budgeted costs and prepare variance reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports related to electrical works.
  • Evaluate change orders, variations, and additional work claims related to electrical components.
  • Coordinate with the engineering and procurement teams to ensure accurate and timely cost data.
  • Provide technical and cost advice during project planning, bidding, and execution phases.
  • Support value engineering initiatives to optimize project cost without compromising quality and safety.
  • Participate in project meetings and report on cost performance and financial progress.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, project procedures, and industry standards.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Project Manager or Cost Control Head.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Licensed Electrical Engineer preferred)
  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years experience in cost engineering, quantity surveying, or estimating in the construction industry
  • Knowledge:
  • Electrical design, materials, and installation standards
  • Cost estimation, budget preparation, and cost control methods
  • Philippine Electrical Code and construction industry standards
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project, and cost estimation software
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and financial acumen
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Detail-oriented and organized in managing project documentation
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with occasional site visits
  • May involve coordination with clients, contractors, and suppliers
  • Fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail and deadline management

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From Php25,000.00 per month
