Key Responsibilities:

  1. Communication & Coordination:

  2. Handle communication with principals, vessels, agents, accredited clinics, and relevant personnel concerning crewing operations.

  3. Crew Planning & Deployment:

  4. Develop and maintain crew relief/rotation schedules, ensuring continuity of vessel operations through timely provision of qualified crew.

  5. Crew Change Management:

  6. Oversee timely and efficient crew changes in coordination with principals, ensuring minimal disruption to vessel operations.

  7. Seafarer Qualification & Compliance:

  8. Ensure all candidates for hiring, rehiring, and promotion meet company and principal standards as well as international qualification requirements.

  9. Verify technical and professional qualifications of crew prior to deployment.

  10. Performance & Promotion Monitoring:

  11. Coordinate and follow up on crew performance evaluations, career progression, and movements across vessels.

  12. Documentary & Regulatory Compliance:

  13. Ensure all pre-joining documentation and medical requirements are fulfilled in accordance with national and international maritime regulations.

  14. Endorse and coordinate Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME) schedules.

  15. Retention & Relationship Management:

  16. Promote seafarer retention through regular briefings, maintaining professional relationships, and effective communication.

  17. Conduct pre-joining briefings and off-signer debriefings.

  18. Record Management:

  19. Oversee the updating and maintenance of seafarer certifications, medical records, and other required documents in both physical format and digital systems (e.g., Mentor).

  20. Emergency & Family Support:

  21. Act as the emergency contact for crew-related issues.

  22. Assist in family welfare and support activities, ensuring effective communication between the company and seafarers' families.

  23. P&I and Claims Support:

    • Assist in providing accurate and timely information related to P&I (Protection & Indemnity) cases and crew claims.

    • Compensation Benchmarking:

    • Monitor market rates and trends related to crew salaries and benefits to ensure competitiveness and compliance with industry standards.

    • Departmental Oversight:

    • Ensure departmental staff are performing effectively and contributing to the company's quality objectives and crewing strategy.

    • Other Duties:

    • Perform additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by Management.
