Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and support of shell and tube heat exchangers and related mechanical systems. This role involves performing thermal and mechanical calculations, preparing technical documentation, and ensuring that designs meet industry standards and client specifications. The Mechanical Engineer also provides technical support during fabrication, installation, and troubleshooting, while ensuring compliance with safety and quality requirements.


Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

  • Design and develop shell and tube heat exchangers in compliance with ASME, TEMA, and client specifications.
  • Conduct thermal and mechanical design calculations, stress analysis, and material selection.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, data sheets, material requisitions, and technical documentation.
  • Review vendor drawings, technical bids, and equipment specifications for accuracy and compliance.

Project & Technical Support

  • Collaborate with project teams, vendors, and clients to ensure accuracy and success of engineering deliverables.
  • Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot heat exchanger performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support procurement activities by evaluating supplier capabilities and material certifications.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure designs comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Support cost optimization initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, codes, and new technologies in heat exchanger design.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying design enhancements and efficiency opportunities.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the design and operation of shell and tube heat exchangers.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME, TEMA, API, and other applicable codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software such as PV Elite, HTRI, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks.
  • Experience in fabrication processes, materials, and welding methods.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
