Despite being essential for a dignified living, these remain as privileges instead of rights to billions of people around the globe.  For this reason, Manila Water Foundation (MWF) was established in 2005 by the Manila Water Company, to be its social development arm to serve waterless and toilet-less communities in the Philippines and other neighboring countries.

The Accounting Operations Officer performs a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions, specifically on General Ledger Accounting.  This position is also responsible for supporting the Finance and Admin Manager in conducting key activities such as Journal Entry Analysis, Recording and Processing, Bank Reconciliation, Documentation, Data Entry, Records and Documents Management.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs recording of journal entries in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS);
  • Performs basic accounts movements analysis and identifies red flag issues noted.
  • Coordinate with the different departments on matters concerning subsidiary ledger maintenance and reporting; with proposals on possible courses of action for the resolution of issues, if any.
  • Manage timely completion, reconciliation, and submission of subsidiary ledgers.
  • Prepare bank reconciliation statements with a correct and clear description of reconciling items, complete with supporting schedules.
  • Ensure proper recording of reconciliation items reflected in the bank reconciliation statement, including, but not limited to, bank charges, returned checks, unrecorded collections, and recording errors.
  • Participate in accounting system enhancement initiatives.  Perform UAT in reports enhancement or creation.
  • Design fit-to-purpose minor financial reports needed internally and by external requestors in excel or SAP with assistance from the Finance and Admin Manager.
  • Compliance to regulatory agencies, such as but not limited to BIR, SEC, DSWD, PCNC and other local and national laws.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is an advantage
  • Must have knowledge on Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS)
  • Must have at least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Must be familiar with SAP
  • Can work well under pressure and can meet challenging deadlines.
  • Detail oriented, organized and can work with voluminous data.
  • Must have analytical aptitude with a strong drive to learn.
  • Must be willing to take initiatives and accept new challenges.
