Senior Tester (with Test Automation Experience)

Job Description

The Senior Tester is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications through a combination of manual and automated testing. This role involves designing and executing test strategies, developing automated test scripts, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior testers. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and proven experience in implementing robust automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of test strategies across multiple projects.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, TestNG, JUnit, PyTest).
• Perform a full range of testing activities, including functional, regression, integration, system, performance, and user acceptance testing.
• Analyze business and technical requirements to create detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
• Identify, document, and track defects using established defect-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, Bugzilla).
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to clarify requirements and resolve defects efficiently.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily scrums, and retrospective meetings in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Conduct root cause analysis for complex issues and propose preventive measures.
• Create and maintain automation frameworks and ensure they integrate smoothly with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and code reviews to junior QA and automation engineers.
• Ensure testing activities adhere to organizational standards, timelines, and quality goals.
• Produce clear and comprehensive test reports and communicate quality metrics to stakeholders.
• Continuously evaluate new tools, technologies, and processes to improve test efficiency and product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of software testing experience, including at least 2–3 years in test automation.
• Strong proficiency in automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
• Experience programming in languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, or Ruby.
• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, testing techniques, and software development lifecycles.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems and version control tools (Git preferred).
• Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI).
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud-based application testing (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Background in BDD/TDD practices (e.g., Cucumber, SpecFlow).
• Experience in testing mobile apps (iOS/Android).
• Exposure to security testing concepts and tools.

Work from Home Requirements (Must have before the start date)

• Internet Connection : Min of 30 mbps wired internet connection speed AND a backup internet connection (before start date)
• Computer/Laptop: The contractor must have a working computer with updated current programmes from home with Dual Monitors
• Noise Canceling Headset (Plantronics)
• Dedicated Home Office - Contractors are required to have a dedicated home office free from noise and distractions.
• Must be comfortable working with a Monitoring Software (for payroll and timekeeping purposes only)
• Webcam - Contractors must have a working webcam

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From Php77,000.00 per month
