Job Title: Junior Accounting Officer

Department: Finance

Reports Directly to: Accounting Head/ Corporate Treasurer

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Accounting Officer to join our Finance Department. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and capable of handling a variety of accounting tasks with accuracy and efficiency. You will be responsible for maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting audit activities.

Key Responsibilties:

Financial Recording & Reporting

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and identifying discrepancies.
  • Prepare and submit monthly in-house financial reports on or before the 10th of the following month.
  • Review and verify Front Office revenue postings in QuickBooks.
  • Check guest Accounts Receivable (AR) ledgers monthly (before the 6th of the following month) to ensure all charges are settled.
  • Record all expense vouchers, payments, and check issuances in QuickBooks.
  • Post online banking transactions (PBT/BDO/Landbank) into QuickBooks.
  • Reconcile credit card payments against bank settlements.

Sales & Events Accounting

  • Accurately post functions/events transactions into QuickBooks based on approved sales breakdowns.
  • Prepare monthly Excel reports summarizing event sales.
  • Ensure timely collection of sales reports 3–4 days after each event for proper posting.
  • Conduct random audits of sales reports and attachments to validate accuracy.
  • Ensure all official receipts are properly issued, collected, and recorded in the books.

Inventory & Cost Control

  • Assist in conducting F&B month-end inventory together with the Cost Controller.
  • Validate menu costing submitted by the F&B Cost Controller.

Tax & Compliance

  • Prepare and file BIR reports, including quarterly VAT returns and listings.
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly 1601-E and 1601-C withholding tax reports.
  • Handle annual Books of Accounts printing, preparation, and reporting for BIR.
  • Ensure compliance with all government tax and accounting regulations.

Audit Support

  • Assist in the preparation and gathering of audit documents.
  • Provide necessary information and support to internal and external auditors.

Other Duties

  • Perform other accounting-related tasks as assigned by the Supervisor or Corporate Treasurer.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in general accounting, bookkeeping, or related roles (fresh graduates with strong internship experience are welcome to apply).
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is an advantage.
