Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the construction company, ensuring accurate recording, analysis, and reporting of all financial transactions. The role involves managing the accounting team, monitoring project-related costs, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting management in decision-making through timely financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Oversee project cost accounting, job costing, and progress billing to ensure accurate tracking of construction project expenses and revenues.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
  • Coordinate with project managers, procurement, and operations teams to verify accuracy of project-related financial data.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial adjustments.
  • Support external and internal audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
  • Develop and implement accounting systems, policies, and procedures for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Mentor and train accounting staff to ensure professional development and adherence to best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong background in construction accounting, including project cost control and progress billing.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or equivalent ERP system).
  • Excellent knowledge of financial regulations, taxation, and compliance standards.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
